ROFL, but you would be correct. Technically speaking,
they are a vegetable. And speaking of canned cukes,
I love the short thicker canning cukes with lighter skin than regular and much sweeter. I eat them in salads.

There are actual TWILIGHT TOURS now featuring all the sites.
It blows my mind, but I guess if New Zealand could have LOTR tours why not TWILIGHT tours here in Oregon.
I like your #27. One of the most undesirable things about bars is the need to scream at the person, persons, that you would like to spend time with........

They haul them around to ALL the sites where the film was shot; I hear 21 different sites.
I have never seen it......I guess I should, just to see how well we fare in the film.....
When the tours began there were interviews with some of the 'tourists' who were all sighing at how beautiful it is.
One lady said she had come on pilgrimage, my words not hers,
**rolls eyes**
from Philadelphia......Others had come from equally long distances. I cannot imagine given it is after all a film, not RL,
but what made me really pause were those who flew all the way to NZ to get in touch with LOTR.
:P
Recently a friend came from VA and when we were in the Columbia gorge, a national heritage site, I pointed out
Viewpoint Inn and then told her it was one of the locales for the film Twilight.
I can see why they used the inn and then further east in the gorge, Multnomah Falls. They are breathtaking.
I guess the location people for the film went nuts here in Oregon looking for just the right sites.

Have you been then to NZ to check out LOTR sites?
My first visit was in the middle 80s and we spent three
week driving. It was fantastic
However, much of what
we saw in scenery, we see daily up here in Pacific NW,
I don't say that as a snob, but just a fact, but
for those who do not live in this area or BC part of Canada,
it is quite an eye opener.

I haven't been to NZ.. But really, there's no rush for me to visit places for the beautiful nature as long as it looks that much like our own.. Same goes for the twilight tour. I do live in norway after all.
I'm not lacking in the pretty of nature :)

I visited Glencoe in scotland (where they film Harry Potter) - and that was something else. Or maybe it was just the perfect time of day to drive trough there.. Early morning mist everywhere, drizzling a bit. Stunning place.

I get what you mean about NZ, but I do want to do the LotR-tour... Just a thing. Should a bunch of money just fall in my lap - there are many places I'm thinking I would go before I went to NZ.
Like Japan.. I really want to visit Japan.. and well, I'd like to do a road trip in the US..

I have lived in Japan. What part do you want to visit. If your time is limited and finances, suggest Kyoto area. Quite lovely
One of the few spots off limits during WWII so quite like it was many centuries ago.
A road trip is the perfect way to see the US, or any country for that matter........
I have never been to Scandinavia but have always wanted to visit Norway in particular......Sweden and Finland not so much.

What part I want to visit? I'm not really sure. I want some of the history - and I want to see the cities.. Little bit of everything. Love history - love technology.. Japan just seems like the place for a tech-nut-nerd to visit... :p
Not to seem full of myself (or overly patriotic) but in scandinavia I would say norwa is the country to visit. Not that there is anything wrong with the other countries.. But we do have the best nature experiences :)

Be certain to take LOTS of money......Tokyo is now the most expen$ive place in the world, e.g. for a cup of coffee, $8 USD.
No coffee is worth that.....
If I were doing Japan I would visit there briefly, take the train to Nara and then down to Kyoto.....and spend A LOT of time there.
If you go, stay in the small inns, known as ryokan

not the massive impersonal hotels.
Believe me, you will not regret it.

As I noted in my last post, my real interest in Scandinavia remains in Norway, not in Sweden and Finland. Just have no interest and after witnessing the Fins in St. Petersburg, it left me even less interested.

I am beginning to feel rather badly about #1
Other than Comanche Rider, I am the only other one who finds the kitchen environment hostile.
HOWEVER, yesterday I did have some success when I made a tri berry cobbler, featuring marionberries, boysenberries, and blueberries.
I took it to my sister and BIL's July 4 BBQ and it had rave notices.
I guess I can sum it up by something 'Maxine' said:
"I understand the concepts of cooking and cleaning, just
not how they apply to me"

You'll notice I didn't address how well I cooked (LOL). My husband is the real cook - I just get by when I have to. He makes fun of my cooking, which makes me want to do it even less. My almost 13-year-old loves to cook as well, so she does it a lot. Since I get stuck with clean-up no matter who cooks, I'd just as soon someone else does that part.

Why do you consider your height weird?
I can relate only in opposite direction. I am 5'8"
I have been this tall since I was just a young teen, and believe me it can be really hard when you tower over everyone, including boys. AND I won't even comment on what big feet mean.

We usually just let the dogs do their own thing. We have had them long enough that you get used to their weird ways...barking at nothing, being overly attached when you come inside from being outdoors for a minute.
I guess I consider my height weird because everyone in my family is at least 6 inches taller than me. My husband is 6' 1".

The neurosis you describe sounds like my sister and brother in law's dog Lyca. She is a large Pom....
Is very unhappy if 'the pack' is not together
When my sister and BIL are there, then the pack consists of them. If I am there, then she includes me.

There is A LOT of barking at nothing and very unhappy if 'the pack' is not in the house and she is.

My husband was out of town for work for 8 days. While he was gone, the dogs (a black lab that hates the water and an overweight beagle) moped and were sad. When he came back...they were mad at him and ignored him and barked at him. They are better now:P

Lyca has so many funny traits too.....
She is quite a character. She was a rescue dog.
I hate to think of what things would have been like for her
had my BIL not wanted her. They got her when she was only 1
years old.

My black lab was going to the pound as a puppy if we didn't take him and the beagle was a wedding gift...my cousin didn't want him any longer and was looking to get rid of him. My husband and I don't have any children so our dogs are our children:)

YES that is definitely a similarity once again for my sister
and BIL....
It kind of worries me sometime because they have
become so ***deeply**** attached to her.
Sandy talks about her as if she were a child instead of a
dog.....He is not as vocal but I have watched him with her
and he is also very attached.
Bottom line is that she is really HIS dog....

The beagle is definitely my husband's and the lab is without a doubt mine. The beagle will stand me when my husband isn't around, but when he comes home...I don't exist! They are bizarre creatures...but I love them anyway:)
