Exclusive District 9 Interviews

Sony Pictures and producer Peter Jackson held a sneak screening of District 9 at the 2009 San Diego Comic Con and wound up generating more buzz for that smaller budgeted film than did a lot of the big name productions showcased at the event. The reaction from the packed crowd after the screening was overwhelmingly positive, and now District 9 has entered the big leagues as one of the must-see films of the summer.

First-time feature film director Neill Blomkamp helms the sci-fi thriller which stars Sharlto Copley (don't feel upset if you don't recognize that name - he's also new on the screen) and features some of the best CG aliens to ever fill the big screen. Set 28 years after an alien spaceship has become disabled above Johannesburg, South Africa, Copley plays a government worker who is charged with relocating a slum camp filled with aliens (referred to as 'prawns'). And, of course, this forced relocation doesn't sit well with the aliens...
